There is nothing quite like the first night in a new home, especially when it already feels finished. In March 2026, our client moved from Newport Beach to a new home in San Juan Capistrano, and instead of living out of boxes for months, he brought in our team to unpack and organize from the start.
Starting with a blank slate
A new house is full of promise, and also full of empty shelves and unopened boxes. The walk-in closet had beautiful white built ins waiting to be filled, and the tall pantry beside the kitchen was completely bare. New furniture was arriving mid week too, so the plan had to leave room for incoming pieces.
Unpacking with a plan
Before move day, we mapped out a structured plan with clear daily priorities and stop times, then spent several days in the new home in late March. Kitchen, pantry and everyday essentials came first, followed by closets, linens and bathrooms. Our organizers space planned each area, added organizing products, broke down boxes as we went and cleaned up at the end of every day, with a walk through so our client could see the progress.
In the kitchen, we unpacked and organized the cabinets, bar area, breakfast nook and coffee bar, organized the pots and pans and labeled as we went. In the walk-in closet, clothing came out of the wardrobe boxes and onto the rods, and shoe and hat boxes found a home on the shelves.
A pantry that works from day one
The tall pantry became a true kitchen workhorse, with clear bins and labeled containers that make everything easy to see and easy to restock. Products were added throughout the home as well, in the bathrooms, laundry room and bedroom closets, and our junk removal partner hauled away the boxes and packing debris.
How our move management works
Unpacking is one part of our full service move management. Moves start at $2,500, which includes 2 days of prep and 2 days of unpacking, and each project is bid by scope so you only pay for what your home needs. Smaller jobs are simply booked as regular organizing sessions.
The result
Within days of moving in, the closet felt like a boutique and the kitchen and pantry were ready for real life. Instead of a garage full of boxes, our client had a home that felt calm and entirely his own.
