Corona del Mar is one of our favorite corners of Orange County. Families here live full, beautiful lives between the beach, school runs and evenings with friends, and the busiest spaces in the house feel it first. This Newport Beach area family brought our team in over several weeks in late 2025 for a series of organizing sessions throughout the home, including the pantry and a child’s closet.
Where things started
The pantry cabinet had become a catch all. Snacks, drinks, paper towels, cleaning products and cooking basics shared the same deep shelves, so everyday favorites were tucked behind backups and nothing had a clear home.
The child’s closet had good bones, with two hanging rods and a shelf above, but clothing, shoes and little accessories had drifted together across both sides, which made getting dressed and putting laundry away harder than it needed to be.

Transforming the pantry
Our organizers pulled everything out and regrouped it into simple categories the whole family can understand at a glance. Then we gave every category a home. Woven baskets corral snacks and loose packets, clear canisters line the top shelf for staples, bottles and jars are grouped together so they are easy to see, and a basket on the lower shelf holds grab and go snacks. Paper goods and household backups moved out of the prime real estate so the everyday shelves stay calm and easy to scan.

A closet made for little hands
In the closet, clothing now hangs by category and color on matching hangers, so favorites are easy to spot. Bins along the upper shelf hold the items that are not needed every day, and baskets on the floor keep shoes and small things contained and within reach. When kids can see where things live, they can help put them back, and that is where the real magic happens.
The result
Both spaces now feel open, light and easy to use. The pantry works like a tiny market where restocking takes minutes, and the closet makes mornings smoother. Most importantly, the systems are simple enough to keep up on a busy week, because an organized home should support your life, not add to your to do list.
Keeping it beautiful
A quick weekly reset keeps a pantry like this looking its best: pull items forward, move anything running low to the front of its basket, and add restock items to your list before the canister is empty. In a closet, keeping a small donation bag on a hook makes it easy to release outgrown pieces the moment you notice them.
